Cradle / Tilt Rotary Table

A cradle rotary table tilts the table, allowing the tool to approach the part at a compound angle. It is referred to in the shop as a 'cradle type' or 'tilt rotary table'; its technical equivalent is the 5-axis CNC rotary table family.

Table diameter, tilt angle range, braking torque, and VMC table mounting surface are critical in selection. Choosing the wrong trunnion causes vibration and poor surface finish.
